Athletic Training Academic Plan
Students pursuing the major in athletic training must apply and be admitted to the Athletic Training Education Program after completing program requirements. A minimum grade of C- in each and all of the required courses in this major is mandatory.
Students successfully completing all program requirements are awarded the Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training.
PRE-REQUISITE COURSES:
Students desiring acceptance into the Athletic Training Education Program must complete the following prerequisite courses with a grade of “C-“ or better:
- BIO 1100 - General Biology I and Laboratory (4 hours) OR
- BIO 1300 - introduction to Animal Biology and Laboratory (4);
- KIN 1100 - Personal Fitness and Wellness (4);
- ATH 1100 - Prevention and Care of Emergencies and Athletic Injuries (4); and
- ATH 1150 - Basic Skills in Athletic Training (2).
Student must have completed or be currently enrolled in these courses to apply to the program. Additional admission requirements can be found here.

- ATH 3670 - Evaluation of Musculoskeletal Injuries II: Upper Extremity & Spine (4),

Students majoring in liberal studies may not select athletic training as a concentration.
